So I decided to do a little "research" the other day... and I come across this article:

HAHA! Whaaatttt. So I'm going to a city whose fog is caused by perpetual weed smoking and whose civilians participate in "illicit" activity... Ok, ma'am. Oh, and my favorite part is that only bad students go to Perugia to study. Lovely.
So these are my first thoughts: crap. I don't do drugs. I'm pretty terrible at illicit activity, just ask my friends. And lastly, I'm not a dumbass, thank you very much.
This is all very surprising particularly because most things I've read about Perugia is that yes, there's an active drug market, but it's a great place to study Italian because it's in real Italy and you live like an Italian. Funny enough, my pre-departure materials from my program basically say that Americans party and Italians don't so I should be prepared to be a responsible individual to merely fit in...
I suppose it isn't so surprising considering I just mentioned a "active drug market." Hahaha...
Instead of freaking out, I kind of just laughed. At least I know I'm going to have a good time! No sleepy Italian village for me... annnnddd I'm going to stay away from drugs. All will be well.
